I surfed on Internet to find solutions via kinds of search engines. I find that many iPhone users may have the same situation with mine. I did try various methods, but I still cannot disable my iTunes backup password for my iPhone.

When I went to quit, I got my last straw – there is a pro tool called “iPhone Backup Unlocker”, that works as backup password remover for iPhone, iTunes, iPad, iPod, etc. I did as the following detailed instructions:

Step 1: Get the path for the encrypted backup file
Get iPhone Backup Unlocker from http://www.windowspasswordsrecovery.com/product/iphone-backup-unlocker.htm, install the app on your Windows computer and run it. Then import the targeted encrypted file as the software guide you by clicking "Open". Usually, the file is stored automatically inside bellow folder of computer's main system.

For Windows Vista/Windows 7, the file path is stored as: \Users\ (username)\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\
For Win XP, the file is stored as path: \Documents and Settings\ (username)\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\

Step 2: Get the right Attack Mode from the tool supported
Three options of attacking types provided by the tool: Brute-force Attack, Brute-force with Mask Attack and Dictionary Attack.

The Brute-force Attack tries all possible character combination randomly. It will cost us relatively long time to get password. So, we may have a tea for waiting. After minutes; the password will be found back.
The Brute-force with Mask Attack shortens attacking time if there is any clue about your lost password.
The Dictionary Attack tries kinds of words from a really exhaustive dictionary list that should be supported by us or the defaulted by the app.

Step 3: Unlock iPhone backup password
After we choose the attack mode, then click "Start" to find backup password. Within the least time cost, we can get the lost backup password and all our data on iPhone will be safe for us.

For encrypt iPhone backup, first, it is just but a password on the backup so not anyone can use it. Every time you connect your iPhone to iTunes it makes a backup.

Second, updating iTunes, or updating your software on you iPhone does not, and should never permanently delete your songs. What it does when you update, it has to put new software onto your iPhone, but it can't just add it on, instead it deletes the software, and then installs the new software. In this process, yes everything on your iPhone is deleted, but remembers that backup? It loads everything back, on top of the new software from that backup. So everything should be the same.

remove backup password on iPad

How to remove encrypt backup password for my iPad?

I am relatively new to iPad and iTunes. As I initially purchased my iPad Mini, I was using syncing/backups via iTunes. During those times, I created an encrypted backup and tried out the entire process of recovering via the backup. Back then, I made no note in the password that I used. Given that I have my iPad build the way in which I want, I attempt to support it via iTunes. The sync and backup appear to finish correctly; however, easily attempt to restore through the backup or perhaps make an effort to backup without a password, iTunes appears to require the initial password which I used by my initial practice sessions. I need to break the encryption on any backup. I only would like to backup the current state of my iPad so maintain my backups to come.

I did try many ways for further operations without the previous forgotten iPad backup password. But things are not easy.

Then I've come to conclusion that once I have used iPad encryption for backups, iTunes will never assist to start a newly backup except I get the old encryption password. I've tried installing iTunes on different computers, deleting all previous backups, and seeking to backup with no password and have absolutely been unsuccessful as of yet. So it appears that if you ever have used a password to backup your iPhone and you forget it prior to taking off the password protection, the only course of action to create (and restore from) an iPad backup is to start from scratch with a complete wipe of your iPad's settings. But at least you can move music, video, apps, and contacts to your computer first and restore them afterwards.

Well, things are not easy when meet such complicated problem and do not want to lose data on our iPad. To restore iPad from backup at the least time and without data lost, iPhone Backup Unlocker is our great choice!

You can create an unencrypted version to utilize to transfer computer data across for your new iPhone:

1. Jailbreak your device. The easiest way to do this is via ailbreakme, or if you have a more specific set of requirements then use Redsn0w or PwnageTool. This will install the hacked AppStore called Cydia.
2. Use Cydia to install OpenSSH and SQLite3
3. Connect your iPhone to a wireless network and ssh to it using Apple's default root password of "alpine"
4. We want to manipulate the keychains that basically store your saved encrypted passwords. Run "cd /var/Keychains" and you will find the keychains SQLite database called "keychain-2.db".
5. Connect to the keychain database by running the command "sqlite3 keychain-2.db"
6. Dump the contents of the table called "genp" by typing the following into the SQLite command prompt "select * from genp;"
7. Find the row containing the text "BackupPassword"
8. Get the RowID from the start of this line. Mine was "54"
9. Delete this row by typing the following into the SQLite command prompt "delete from genp where rowid = 54;" (remember to change 54 to be your own RowID)
10. Plug your iPhone into iTunes, where it will show that you still have a backup password enabled. Deselect the "Encrypt iPhone Backup" option.
11. This will ask you for your password, but don't fret! Type arbitrary text in as your password and hit ok.

At this point your password will be accepted, your backup encryption option will be disabled, and your iPhone will start backing up without encryption.
